Finally, an update on the progress made to the flat!

So much has happened since January, I can hardly remember what the place was like before! The famous pink kitchen was demolished in January and a lovely new one installed in what was the old spare room. The huge, ramshackle old boiler was ripped out and a swanky new one put in and the biggest change was the creation of a new room for baby where the old open plan kitchen used to be. We are still living in a building site but slowly the dust is settling and we are finally beginning to see our new home taking shape. My Mum and Dad have been incredible, Mum helping out with the painting, painting and yet more painting and Dad has tiled the kitchen walls and floor.

However, their work is not yet complete - our plumber has let us down so poor Dad has to step into his shoes and fit the new radiator before helping to screed the floor and finally laying the new wood flooring! I think Mum & I will probably go shopping whilst the boys do all this! Ollie has been working incredibly hard too, not only learning to put up doors, door frames and all sorts of DIY jobs including some gardening, but the poor boy has had to look after me too and that's no mean feat at the moment,especially with my hormones behaving incredibly badly! I think all three of them deserve a medal.

Ollie hates gardening!

We decided to rip out the nasty, straggly old bushes that were at the end of the garden & replace with some climbers and a couple of native shrubs that will help encourage the wildlife that regularly visit us - a bonus of living so close to Richmond Park.

Back from Rome!

After a lovely ten days spent wandering in Rome, we are back and getting stuck into the flat. We walked all over Rome and marvelled at the glory of it all. It was a wonderful break away, Luke & Nix joined us at the end of the week and we bumped into Steve & Bridie in a back street in Rome - very bizarre but very lovely! We ended up all going out that evening to celebrate Bridie's birthday. It was the most perfect end to the week. Driving into Rome itself was an experience though! Ollie drove like a true Italian - hee hee!
